This was exactly what I wanted. Very heavy duty, true cast iron, great for humidifying a room with a wood stove. I love it

The kettle does function, but the paint is flaking off. I use this on my wood burning stove, and it does steam up and humidify, but the paint isn’t great. I am planning on re-painting it. so, it works for what I bought it for, but its not pretty.

This is a great idea, and looks great in the house, but the first time I used it, it smelled a horrible chemical smell throughout the house. When I went to change/add water, I noticed the bottom of the pot was all “bubbly”, the sides a bit like this too. I could scrape of the bottom coating with a spoon. Maybe mine was defective? I know this will just be decoration as I am afraid to heat water in it now!

We like this kettle very much. It could not be used as a teapot – it gets rusty on the inside – and it is very heavy and somewhat difficult to lift; but it sits on top of the wood stove and helps to humidify our house in the dry winter. Excellent value for the money!
